About this block

A metronome and a drone, built into your Darkglass Anagram.

ShedSpace is a metronome and drone plugin for the Darkglass Anagram, for bass and guitar players who practice without a phone or a laptop on the music stand. Both tools live in the signal chain. Your instrument passes through untouched, and the click and the drone are added to it.

METRONOME

Tempo from 40 to 300 BPM on the block encoder knob, or locked to the Anagram's global tempo so it follows the rest of your board. 18 time signatures, from 4/4 and 3/4 to 11/8 and 13/8. Four subdivisions: quarters, eighths, triplets, sixteenths. Accent patterns: all equal, on the one, downbeat, backbeat. 12 beat patterns, including beat 1 only, beats 2 and 4, and randomized gaps that make you keep time yourself. Five click sounds: Woodblock, Digital, Beep, Hi-hat, Clave.

DRONE

A sustained pitch reference from a three-voice ensemble engine, closer to strings or a pad than a bare oscillator. Root note, octave and 14 chord voicings: Major, Minor, Dom7, Maj7, Sus4, Dim, Dim7, Add9, Aug and more. Five octaves of range. Seven Character presets from clean and bright to warm and dark. Attack fades in from 0 to 5 seconds. Brightness and Chorus controls shape tone and width.

ON THE PEDAL

Quick access on page 1, metronome detail on page 2, drone detail on page 3. The metronome and the drone run independently: use one, both or neither. The drone fades in and out when you toggle it or bypass the block. All synthesis runs on the device, with no samples to load.

BYPASS

Bypass passes your signal through unchanged. Turning bypass off resets the metronome to beat 1, with no mid-bar re-entry.

Part of the ShedSpace family. ShedSpace Practice Logger logs your practice on the web, and the ShedSpace app puts a metronome, a drone and a real drummer on your phone. Each is a separate product with its own purchase. Details and screenshots: https://shedspaceapp.com/shedspace-anagram/
